Wud up party people?!Tune in this afternoon from 2-4 for The Audible Smile. You'll have a chance to pledge for this stunning ensemble as worn by Audible Smile host Kallen. As worn by him at the 2006 Slurpee Cup. It's called "the Kory Condor unwashed short-shorts and do not tap dat ass tank top pack". It's going for a very generous pledge of $240.
BTW, we're sitting at just under $158,000. Phenomenal - we are so grateful for your support!

It's Wednesday afternoon, and we're still rolling along, as you probably could tell from the total on the splash page! Over $130,000!
We hope you've been taking in at least some of the live drive events. If not you've meissed out on some fantastic moments. The Ship Jam was great, with some fantastic performers including Loirrie Matheson, Jay Crocker, Dolly Sillito and Bil Hetherington, as well as some open-stagers including one named Blue Boy that will remain ingrained in the psyche of everyone who attended. Monday night's Name That Tune was a great success - tons of prizes given out, two dance offs, and Gary Powers and Dwight Christmas doing their best to hold things together. The staff at the Bamboo Tiki Room were amazing - theanks Arlen and Talicia - and Dan Northfield was waaaaay generous. Shots all around!
Last night saw the Beatroute Rock and Roll Variety Show host the Incandesence and Sudden Infant Dance Syndrome. Again the staff was fantastic, the bands were great and everyone had a good time. Sadly, it was the Incandesnece last show, but make sure you pick up the split 7" they released with SIDS last night - a nice lil' "something to remember them by."
Ok, so tonight is the Open Stage Jazz Jam hosted by Chris Dadge. It's up at Weeds Cafe and it should be an awesome time. Tomorrow night, head down to Cafe Koi - Dj Cosm and TeeKay are hosting Fli Thursdays (and if you heard Cosm's show on Sunday, you know he's good shit). Firday is the big wrap up party at the Liberty - last year it sold out, so get your plans together now!
AND KEEP LISTENEING! There's always surprises on the air - whether they're fantastic incentives that you didn't even imagine we would be giving away, like the extra special Cobra Packs that have come up no and then, or fantastic programming - Jane and Tasya's Guide to Everything breaking $6,000 in two hours! Holy! And special guests galore, of course. So keep listening, keep pledging and keep showing the love for the little station that could - CJSW!

Wow. It's Monday night/Tuesday morning and we're well on our way! We broke $100,000.00 earlier tonight, and we're good to go for the rest of the week. Like we need to prompt you - again - to check out the swag, but by this point, you've already done that. Check the on-air feed (live via your radio or live via the internet), make sure you get out to the events (like the Ship and Anchor jam on Saturday, the Matal Karaoke on Sunday night, Name that Tune tonight were all gang busters!) and above all make sure you pledge! Tomorrow you'll be getting pics of the events, more up to the minute up dates and just all around goodness! Read more soon, and make sure you dial - 403.220.8224. Hotness. Complete.

It's on! And wow - is it ever! What a great start - almost $4000 on the 2 1/2 Hour Coffee Break, and the Punk Up The Volume crew is close to breaking $3000 on their show! If you weren't listening, you missed The Black Wednesdays live on air! See what happens when you're not tuned in? Up next is My Allergy to the Fans with Chad Saunders, voted Calgary's Favourite radio personality or something like that.

It's Funding Drive Eve! Which means that the Red Bull and cookies have been laid out for the Phone Trolls with care, in hopes that the pledgers will soon be there! There are boxes upon boxes of swag sitting in Station Manager Chad Saunders office - mugs and t-shirts and hoodies and oh my! I feel a musical coming on!
But not really. It all starts tomorrow with Ian Chiclo and the Two and a Half Hour Coffee Break - what better show to pledge to for a coffee mug! - and goes from there. Make sure you stay tuned to this blog for regular - and we mean frequent - updates as to where we're at in the money we've raised, what special guests and bands are going to be on the air when, and pictures of all the excitement! Remember - things happen spur of the moment during the next 7 days, and we don't have a fancy RSS feed for y'all, so make sure you keep clicking the refresh button.
Why should you pledge to CJSW? Well, on top of being the best damn indie station around (I mean sure there's some other great ones out there, but this is YOUR radio) there's the fact that we get amazing guests! This week alone we had TV travel guru Ian Wright on Welcome To Flava Country, and NHL Linesman Ray Scapinello in the station. We also have our brand new website - the very one you're clicking around! And the great radio you hear year round! Plus, the sweet sweet swag, which you can see here!
Oh and - according to the college music industry, you've got a radio station with one of the best MDs on the continent! It's true! We usually don't blow our own horns too much here, and these things are a bit, un, iffy, but Derek McEwen was nominated for Music Director of the Year for the annual CMJ College Radio Awards!
The events for the week have started to solid up - We look forward to shaking it with you for the opening night party at Flashlight Fridays at the HiFi Club (get there early kids - lineups have started at 9:30 in the past couple of weeks); Name That Tune (at the Bamboo Tiki Room) with Dwight Christmas and Gary Powers on Monday Oct. 23 should not be missed! Prizes, a trivia portion, and the fact they are gonna be super hard on the seasoned vets that seem to think it's gonna be a cakewalk are only some of the reasons to come down. And then there's the wrap-up party - hair metal covers! What could be better? It's being hosted by your favourtie Classic Rock Radio Personalities Jett Thunders and Larry the Hack! Tha's right - the men behind the Cobra are gonna be out and in person! And there are prizes there as well! Keep watching here for more deets and hopefully a link to the Cobra site if y'all don't remember that amazing April 1st.
Y'all know what to do - call that pledge line starting at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, and keep listening for what might just be the best damn radio you hear all year. And if you disagree, well, pledge early, and tune back in on the 27th at 6 p.m. You'll be the one kicking yourself for everything you miss - that's a promise.

Well. With just about 67 hours til kick off and the swag has arrived! Boxes of T-shirts are sitting in the office, coffee mugs (that look hella hot, btw) are being sipped from and everyone is getting pretty antsy. We're also excited because we have a ton of great music incentives and a bunch of great stuff provided to us by local businesses that we're going to be giving out with your pledges - on top of the great radio you get all year! My advice - get in early. Some of the shirts that come in limited numbers are really really good lookin'.
There have been a few questions from eager pledgers so here's a couple of quick things: our office hours for Funding Drive (when you can come by and pay your pledge and pick up your stuff) are as follows, beginnning on Oct 20:
Oct. 20: 9am - 9pm
Oct. 21: 10am - 5pm
Oct. 22: 10am-5pm
Oct. 23-26: 9am - 9pm
Oct. 27: 9am - 6pm
We'll have a complete list of our swag (with photos!) up on the site in the next couple of days as well. Sweet.
Make sure you check out at least a couple of the Funding Drive events we have lined up. And to get you in the mood for hair metal cover night, you can take this quiz to get in the mood.
Get ready!
