Join us for a world of adventure!
EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts is thrilled to present, for the first time in Calgary, the second of four adventurers as part of a new and engaging National Geographic Live speaker series.
Join us on Tuesday, February 7 at 7 pm to experience National Geographic’s Explorer-in-Residence and Genographic Project Director, Dr. Spencer Wells, as he traces mankind’s family tree to unlock the mysteries of our earliest journeys out of the cradle of Africa.
Since 2005 Wells has led a team of scientists in collecting hundreds of thousands of DNA samples from participants around the world. Wells is creating a detailed, genetically-based map of human migration, using clues in our own cells to show how modern humans came to populate the planet.
In addition to Dr. Wells’ fascinating presentation, Bret Hart, professional wrestler and member of one of Calgary’s most iconic families, will be in attendance for this informative evening. Mr. Hart has participated in Dr. Wells’ groundbreaking research adding the Hart family’s genetic map to the Genographic Project’s research bank.
