With the exception of seven permanent paid staff (with some interns and other shorter-term positions), CJSW is run entirely by a group of over two hundred volunteers, and we’re always looking for new blood to join the CJSW ranks.
To become a CJSW volunteer, follow these simple steps:
- Email or call our Volunteer Coordinator to express your interest. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or (403) 220 6563.
- Attend an orientation. The orientation is about one hour long and includes a tour of the station and an introduction to the different departments and volunteer tasks available to you. These occur several times per month, and are scheduled at a variety of times. You only need to attend one, and all volunteers must attend an orientation. If it has been a year or more and you’d like to get back into the CJSW fold, you must attend another orientation.
- After orientation, get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator to make an appointment to volunteer. Our volunteer hours are Tuesday – Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
- Once you’ve had the chance to start volunteering a bit, you can speak to the Volunteer Coordinator about other opportunities and further training.
The MacEwan Student Centre has an elevator that goes to the 3rd floor on the east part of the building. The elevator will take you close to our front door. On the 2nd floor, directly under CJSW and NUTV, is a washroom for all genders. Please inquire with our Volunteer Coordinator (email@example.com) if you have questions about accessibility and inclusivity.
So what are you waiting for? We’d love to see you soon!
