October 7th, 2014

Often my better shows (in my opinion) occur when I have little time to prepare, other than compiling possibilities at 9 PM. The one song I did plan tonight was “No Invitations” by Vancouver’s Nervous Talk, comprised of members of Moby Dicks, The Ballantynes, Blood Bombers, and Timecopz . Watch for their new self-titled LP in early 2015. In the meantime, you can catch Nervous Talk at The Palomino on October 24 with the Line Traps and secret special guests. You won’t want to miss this show! I’m giving away two guest-list spots during my funding drive show on Monday, October 20. Tune In!

The Spin Evolution Playlist, Monday, September 15 10-11 PM

September 16th, 2014

My top release of the night goes to Botanist. As an herbalist, anything of quality that combines my love of music & plants wins. Botanist plays pretty plant prog-metal. Dulcimers are involved, and they list “green metal” as their genre. Total weirdos, which of course, further endears me to them.

Hunters & Collectors – Run Run Run –
Botanist – Stargazer – VI: Flora (Flenser)
Killing Joke – Pssyche –
Beyond Possession – Tell Tale Heart –
The Julie Ruin – HaHaHa –
Novox – Waiting For The Pusherman – Over the Honeymoon (Z Production)

Teenanger* – Mild Suvival – EPLP (Telephone Explosion)
Dada Plan* – The Thief – Is Free (Self-Released)
