SUMMARY:Songs In The Saddle: A Stampede Songwriters Showcase w/ Elliot C Way & Carter Felker
DESCRIPTION:DATES & TIMES\nTuesday July 7th\, 2026\nPerformance: 7:30PM – 10:00PM\nDoors Open: 6:30PM \nTICKETS:\n$30 on The Grand website\nLOCATION\nThe GRAND – 608 1st St SW\nFlanagan Theatre (Main Floor) \nGet ready\, Calgary! The North Country Collective is quickly becoming the heart of a growing grassroots community\, championing songwriters who value honesty\, authenticity\, and the timeless traditions of country\, folk\, and Americana music. \nThis special event at the historic Grand Theatre brings together two of Western Canada’s finest songwriters for an evening that celebrates the craft of storytelling through song. Fans of artists like Steve Earle\, Guy Clark\, Townes Van Zandt\, and John Prine will feel right at home as these songs and stories unfold on stage. \nVancouver’s Elliot C. Way is no stranger to Calgary or the Stampede\, making annual trips through Alberta that have earned him a loyal and growing following. An outlaw country songwriter with a gritty\, unmistakable voice\, Elliott writes songs rooted in honesty\, hard-won experience\, and a deep respect for the traditions of the genre. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Waylon Jennings\, Bruce Springsteen\, and Bob Dylan\, his live performances are shaped by years on the road and a commitment to songcraft above all else. \nJoining him is Calgary’s own Carter Felker\, one of the most respected voices in Alberta’s independent country scene. Widely recognized for his acclaimed songwriting and thoughtful records\, Felker’s plain-spoken delivery\, reedy tenor\, and understated musicianship bring to life songs filled with humanity\, heartache\, humour\, and hope. His ability to capture universal truths through everyday stories has made him a standout voice among a new generation of Canadian songwriters. \nBoth artists will be joined by some of the finest musicians in the country\, including players who have shared stages and recording sessions with some of Canada’s most celebrated artists\, including Alberta’s own Noeline Hofmann. \nExpect an intimate evening of songs and stories—music that speaks to the soul\, honours the traditions of classic country and Americana\, and reminds us why great songwriting endures. Whether you’re drawn to the outlaw spirit of country music or the rich storytelling traditions of folk and Americana\, this is a night designed for listeners who appreciate songs with something to say. \nJoin us for a memorable evening in one of Calgary’s most beautiful and historic venues THE GRAND THEATER

SUMMARY:Jarhead Album Release w/ Pinball 1973\, Far Lane & Crofton
DESCRIPTION:Friday July 24th \nJarhead Album release show with support from Pinball 1973\, Far Lane & Crofton \nLoophole Coffee Bar \nTickets available at doors \nDoors at 7PM\, bands at 8PM – All Ages \nJarhead is a fresh up and coming band formed recently in Calgary comprised of a group of high school students. Taking inspiration from bands of the past their sound is a blend of third wave emo and post hardcore\, giving the band a heavy yet melodic sound. Following the release of their debut single: “Crawlspace” the band will be headlining this show in support of an album releasing in tandem. \nSupporting Jarhead is two gut punching heavy hitter midwest emo bands (Pinball 1973 & Far Lane) and will mark the public debut of a new band: “Crofton“. All these bands alone are worth seeing\, but together there is no doubt they’ll put on an energetic\, emotional and entertaining set of performances. Any fan of midwest emo and post hardcore is sure to have a great night. \n  \nFor further details and questions contact the band directly with the provided link \nhttps://www.instagram.com/jarhead.yyc/p/DZ-g2Qvm0cS/ \n

SUMMARY:Studebaker John: Old School Rockin'
DESCRIPTION:9pm Showtime\, seating opens at 7:30pm \n$10 Pre-Sale or $15 Day Of Show. \nCall 403-262-2666 to make Reservations. Or email us your number: info@thebluescan.com. Or just take a chance & come on down! \nTaking his stage name from an automobile he once owned\, Studebaker John Grimaldi was a product of the vibrant blues scene of Chicago’s West Side. Becoming a fixture at the open-air flea markets in the Maxwell Street area — a venue for countless blues buskers — he began focusing on harmonica after catching performances from the likes of Little Walter and Sonny Boy Williamson; after taking in a Hound Dog Taylor club date\, Grimaldi also turned to guitar. He formed the blues-rock band the Hawks during the early ’70s as a showcase for his reedy vocals\, primal harp sound\, and blistering slide guitar skills\, and in the years to follow also developed into a fine songwriter.
