DESCRIPTION:Come on out for a collaborative all-ages variety show w/ FREE food & a mini-market on Friday July 17th at Contemporary Calgary! \n\n\n\n\nCome on out for the second annual Big Queer Variety Show! This all-ages alcohol-free variety event is happening on Friday July 17th from 5:30 to 9:00 at Contemporary Calgary in the Heather Edwards theatre on the second floor. \nThis is a masked event with ramp access\, closed-captioning and ASL interpreters. There will also be a FREE buffet of omnivorous food\, including gluten-free and vegetarian options. \nJoin our Emcees\, Adora Nwofor and Ebony R. Gooden for an evening of queer joy and creativity as a whole bevvy of talent crosses the stage! \nTickets:\nWe are offering pay-what-you-are-able tickets. DESCRIPTION:What happens when the extreme becomes the new normal? How do we begin to reconcile what the world once was with what it could be? \nBaseline by Anna Gaby-Trotz navigates the severe shifts in our environment accelerated by climate change\, focusing on the North West Passage. By exploring the unique intersections between climate and colonialism\, this exhibition encourages us to challenge a drastically altered reality. \nBaseline will be presented in the Alberta Printmakers Main Gallery from July 3 to August 22\, 2026. \nThe artist talk begins at 7pm\, followed by the reception until 9pm. All are welcome!
