SUMMARY:Sydney Mae with Backyard Betties (duo) and Ron McNeill
DESCRIPTION:Americana artist Sydney Mae joins forces with folk group the Backyard Betties (duo) and roots-country artist Ron McNeill at the legendary King Eddy on June 18. \nEvent Details:\nDate: June 18\, 2026 \nTime: 7:30 pm \nPrice: $20 \nAbout Sydney Mae: \nSydney Mae is an award-winning Americana/Alt Country/Roots recording & performing artist whose voice has the rare power to stop a room in its tracks. Currently based in Toronto\, she has been recognized internationally for her gift of superior storytelling & silence-commanding performance. \nHer debut single\, “Feet First\,” soared to #1 on Stingray Music’s Pop Adult channel\, has earned 500\,000+ streams\, and was featured twice on Netflix’s Love Is Blind (Ep 403; Ep. 813). \nAfter making strides in Nashville performing at the iconic Bluebird Café in a Songwriter’s Circle\, opening for Travis Meadows at 3rd & Lindslay\, headlining Calgary’s ‘Country Thunder\,’ opening for Miranda Lambert at Big Valley Jamboree\, and many more\, Mae’s next and most powerful chapter is just around the corner with new music brewing. \nAbout the Backyard Betties (duo): \nThe Backyard Betties are a Calgary-based folk/Americana band known for honest songs\, rich harmonies\, and engaging live shows. Typically a four-piece\, this stripped-down duo features Nancy Laberge and Pip Hazell\, bringing the music back to its roots\, storytelling\, connection\, laughter\, and a sound that feels both intimate and powerful; the kind of show where you’ll laugh\, reflect\, and quietly think\, “yeah… I’ve been there.” \nAbout Ron McNeill: \nRon McNeill’s musical roots run deep. Born into a large musical family on the east coast of Canada\, picking up an instrument and jamming with the family band was second nature. Surrounded by gospel\, classic country\, and old-time rock and roll\, McNeill’s writing came to reflect these early influences. As a songwriter\, McNeill has had over 90 cuts\, with songs charting in Canada\, France\, Australia\, South Africa and the USA. McNeill has achieved international success co-writing\, producing and singing\, the theme song for “The Love Of The Children”\, documentary. The Film won the coveted Angel Award at the 2013 Monaco International Film Festival. \nMcNeill is the two-time winner of Ole publishing’s songwriting competition\, “Hitsville\,” at the Canadian Country Music Awards. He was also signed as a songwriter for the former Lake Land Publishing\, based In Nashville Tennessee. McNeill’s debut album\, Waiting On The Day\, reflects a lifetime of experiences\, and for the first time\, McNeill is able to tell his stories as both an artist and a songwriter. McNeill’s raw\, heartfelt delivery takes listeners on a journey of past struggles and hardship to redemption and enlightenment. His vocals resonate outlaw country with powerful lyrics and mainstream hooks. Ron McNeill is a proud supporter of ‘For The Love Of The Children Society.’

SUMMARY:Rainbow Patrol EP release show with guest Tannis Root
DESCRIPTION:Event Details \nDate: Friday June 26 \nCost: $15 admission \nTime: Doors at 7PM Show at 8PM \nAt High Line Brewing \nJoin us in kicking off a great big weekend to celebrate the release of “Cataclysm” \nBand Bio \nRainbow Patrol is a progressive desert rock band formed in Lethbridge\, Alberta in 2014. Their current lineup consists of Richard Charlton (bass 2015-2021\, vocals\, guitar\, synth\, audio engineer)\, brothers Travis Arnoldussen (drums\, vocals)\, and Chris Arnoldussen (lead guitar) who have both been in the band since its formation. The latest and final addition to the lineup is Jacqueline Kennelly (bass\, backup guitar) who joined Rainbow Patrol when they reunited after a two year hiatus\, and exploded back into the desert rock scene with their new single “I Float” in 2022. \nTheir music has been described as a psychedelic mix of fuzz heavy riffs reminiscent of Queens Of The Stone Age\, The Sword\, Elder\, and Baroness\, with a groove that will make you think of Black Sabbbath. Top this off with unique vocals and multiple singers\, ranging from the hauntingly clean to earth shattering growls\, and you get a band that truly sounds like no other. “I Float”\, along with every other release to date has been produced\, distributed\, and marketed entirely independently by members\, and friends of the band. After favorable word of mouth and increasing presence online\, Rainbow Patrol received airplay on radio stations all across Canada from Kelowna BC\, to London ON\, as well as receiving national airtime in countries such as Italy\, Norway\, United States\, and UK to name a few. \nCurrently Rainbow Patrol is performing shows regularly in Southern Alberta\, where it is very likely you will hear one of their multiple new unreleased singles. This will be the only way you get to hear brand new\, unrecorded original Rainbow Patrol songs. Currently the members are all hard at work on recording new songs\, and with around an albums worth of new material being worked on\, you will be starting to see some singles and EP release in later 2025 with much more in the works to release in 2026 and beyond. Make sure to keep Rainbow Patrol on your radar for some of the best desert rock Alberta has to offer!
