SUMMARY:THE STAMPEDERS....One More Time
DESCRIPTION:Where: Jack Singer Concert Hall\nWhen: June 11\, 2026 – 7:30PM \n\nThey’re on their way\, to the city lights’ … and\, THE predominant Canadian Rock ‘n’ Roll band of the 1970s – The Stampeders – are bringing along all their classic hits: Wild Eyes\, Carry Me\, Oh My Lady\, Devil You\, Ramona\, Minstrel Gypsy\, Hit the Road Jack and\, of course\, the quintessential Canadian – and Hall of Fame – song\, Sweet City Woman! A veritable soundtrack to a whole generation that will ‘carry you home’…maybe not to Birmingham … but back to a time of tie-dyed  t-shirts and elevator shoes\, 15¢ coffee and homemade apple pie\, dating and dreaming…By the time The Stampeders get to the first chorus of the first song\, everyone will be singing along. \nNo seventies group represented Canada’s musical identity to the world like The Stampeders. A quick look at Canada’s music scene from 1971 until 1976 confirms The Stampeders were truly the country’s international musical ambassadors\, touring more extensively in Canada and overseas than any other Canadian group during that time. In 1977 the trio: Rich Dodson (lead guitar)\, Kim Berly (drums) and Ronnie King (bass) parted company but reunited\, fittingly at the Calgary Stampede\, 15 years later in 1992. Since then they’ve been recognized by SOCAN for their Lifetime Achievement\, been inducted into the SOCAN Songwriters Hall of Fame on five occasions and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame for their 1971 seminal hit Sweet City Woman. \nIn March 2024\, just before the Ontario leg of this tour\, Ronnie King passed away. In the final days\, while in palliative care\, he insisted that his band mates carry on. Dave Chobot\, renowned bassist and long time friend of the band\, who was already scheduled to be on the tour to sit in for Ronnie as needed\, was the obvious choice. Still\, Ronnie  remains a presence at every show\, as Rich and Kim share stories from 50+ years on the road and pay tribute with a retrospective video. \nThe enduring musical legacy of The Stampeders … One More Time… ‘better catch a noon train\, better get there for a rock ‘n’ rolling good time!

SUMMARY:Sydney Mae with Backyard Betties (duo) and Ron McNeill
DESCRIPTION:Americana artist Sydney Mae joins forces with folk group the Backyard Betties (duo) and roots-country artist Ron McNeill at the legendary King Eddy on June 18. \nEvent Details:\nDate: June 18\, 2026 \nTime: 7:30 pm \nPrice: $20 \nAbout Sydney Mae: \nSydney Mae is an award-winning Americana/Alt Country/Roots recording & performing artist whose voice has the rare power to stop a room in its tracks. Currently based in Toronto\, she has been recognized internationally for her gift of superior storytelling & silence-commanding performance. \nHer debut single\, “Feet First\,” soared to #1 on Stingray Music’s Pop Adult channel\, has earned 500\,000+ streams\, and was featured twice on Netflix’s Love Is Blind (Ep 403; Ep. 813). \nAfter making strides in Nashville performing at the iconic Bluebird Café in a Songwriter’s Circle\, opening for Travis Meadows at 3rd & Lindslay\, headlining Calgary’s ‘Country Thunder\,’ opening for Miranda Lambert at Big Valley Jamboree\, and many more\, Mae’s next and most powerful chapter is just around the corner with new music brewing. \nAbout the Backyard Betties (duo): \nThe Backyard Betties are a Calgary-based folk/Americana band known for honest songs\, rich harmonies\, and engaging live shows. Typically a four-piece\, this stripped-down duo features Nancy Laberge and Pip Hazell\, bringing the music back to its roots\, storytelling\, connection\, laughter\, and a sound that feels both intimate and powerful; the kind of show where you’ll laugh\, reflect\, and quietly think\, “yeah… I’ve been there.” \nAbout Ron McNeill: \nRon McNeill’s musical roots run deep. Born into a large musical family on the east coast of Canada\, picking up an instrument and jamming with the family band was second nature. Surrounded by gospel\, classic country\, and old-time rock and roll\, McNeill’s writing came to reflect these early influences. As a songwriter\, McNeill has had over 90 cuts\, with songs charting in Canada\, France\, Australia\, South Africa and the USA. McNeill has achieved international success co-writing\, producing and singing\, the theme song for “The Love Of The Children”\, documentary. The Film won the coveted Angel Award at the 2013 Monaco International Film Festival. \nMcNeill is the two-time winner of Ole publishing’s songwriting competition\, “Hitsville\,” at the Canadian Country Music Awards. He was also signed as a songwriter for the former Lake Land Publishing\, based In Nashville Tennessee. McNeill’s debut album\, Waiting On The Day\, reflects a lifetime of experiences\, and for the first time\, McNeill is able to tell his stories as both an artist and a songwriter. McNeill’s raw\, heartfelt delivery takes listeners on a journey of past struggles and hardship to redemption and enlightenment. His vocals resonate outlaw country with powerful lyrics and mainstream hooks. Ron McNeill is a proud supporter of ‘For The Love Of The Children Society.’

SUMMARY:Rainbow Patrol EP release show with guest Tannis Root
DESCRIPTION:Event Details \nDate: Friday June 26 \nCost: $15 admission \nTime: Doors at 7PM Show at 8PM \nAt High Line Brewing \nJoin us in kicking off a great big weekend to celebrate the release of “Cataclysm” \nBand Bio \nRainbow Patrol is a progressive desert rock band formed in Lethbridge\, Alberta in 2014. Their current lineup consists of Richard Charlton (bass 2015-2021\, vocals\, guitar\, synth\, audio engineer)\, brothers Travis Arnoldussen (drums\, vocals)\, and Chris Arnoldussen (lead guitar) who have both been in the band since its formation. The latest and final addition to the lineup is Jacqueline Kennelly (bass\, backup guitar) who joined Rainbow Patrol when they reunited after a two year hiatus\, and exploded back into the desert rock scene with their new single “I Float” in 2022. \nTheir music has been described as a psychedelic mix of fuzz heavy riffs reminiscent of Queens Of The Stone Age\, The Sword\, Elder\, and Baroness\, with a groove that will make you think of Black Sabbbath. Top this off with unique vocals and multiple singers\, ranging from the hauntingly clean to earth shattering growls\, and you get a band that truly sounds like no other. “I Float”\, along with every other release to date has been produced\, distributed\, and marketed entirely independently by members\, and friends of the band. After favorable word of mouth and increasing presence online\, Rainbow Patrol received airplay on radio stations all across Canada from Kelowna BC\, to London ON\, as well as receiving national airtime in countries such as Italy\, Norway\, United States\, and UK to name a few. \nCurrently Rainbow Patrol is performing shows regularly in Southern Alberta\, where it is very likely you will hear one of their multiple new unreleased singles. This will be the only way you get to hear brand new\, unrecorded original Rainbow Patrol songs. Currently the members are all hard at work on recording new songs\, and with around an albums worth of new material being worked on\, you will be starting to see some singles and EP release in later 2025 with much more in the works to release in 2026 and beyond. Make sure to keep Rainbow Patrol on your radar for some of the best desert rock Alberta has to offer!

SUMMARY:Neon Taste presents Unsane ‘Occupational Hazard’ Tour with PURE LOVE ETERNAL PEACE and Bat Leather
DESCRIPTION:Neon Taste presents Unsane ‘Occupational Hazard’ Tour with special guests PURE LOVE ETERNAL PEACE and Bat Leather \nWhere: Palomino Smokehouse and Social Club\n109 7 Avenue S.W Calgary\nhttp://thepalomino.ca/\n18+ with government issued identification\nWhen: Wednesday September 22\, 2026 Doors: 7:00pm\nGeneral sale / Friday March 13\, 2026\, 10:00 a.m. MST \nUnsane\nSonically\, the record is noted for its aggressively distorted guitars\, driving basslines\, and pounding drums – hallmarks of the band’s uncompromising noise rock style. In preparation for the album\, the band first recorded a six-song demo session at AmRep Studios in Minneapolis\, MN. Shortly after\, Unsane relocated to Excello Studios in Brooklyn\, NY\, where they tracked the album with engineer Billy Anderson. Frontman Chris Spencer (guitar\, vocals) recalls the period: “The writing process for Occupational\nHazard was great. I think the one real defining factor to this very creatively rewarding period of time in our career was that we knew what we were doing in terms of songwriting\, and we were able to take our time while constantly playing.” \nFollowing the recording sessions\, Occupational Hazard was mixed by legendary producer and Barkmarket guitarist David Sardy. Reflecting on the collaboration\, Spencer adds: “I’ve always liked what he did with his own band and in the studio\, and I thought that it would work well for what we were doing. Dave also had access to a really good studio in Midtown Manhattan\, so we decided to take advantage of his great production work and that space. We had been offered a three-record deal with Relapse Records and figured that would be the best thing to do\, considering we wanted to tour constantly.” \nShortly before the album’s original release\, during a European press tour\, Spencer was brutally attacked by street thugs in Vienna\, Austria\, and left for dead. He returned to touring after emergency surgery\, though the incident significantly disrupted the album’s original touring cycle. Now\, more than two decades later\, the entire album has been newly remastered by longtime Unsane collaborator and engineer Andrew Schneider. All formats will include an extra track\, “No Soul\,” originally released via Frank Kozik’s now-defunct\, infamous Man’s Ruin label as a vinyl-only limited edition. Additionally\, the band will release the original six-song demo session recorded at AmRep Studios in Minneapolis\, MN. This previously unreleased material will be included in the digital download format and will also be made available for streaming and download. \nDespite its cult status\, the band had never performed Occupational Hazard in its entirety – until a newly announced\, one-time-only special performance at the Roadburn Festival in April 2026. In addition to this exclusive appearance\, Unsane will embark on a full EU/UK headline tour\, running from March 13 to April 19\, 2026. \nhttps://unsane.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/unsaneband \nPURE LOVE ETERNAL PEACE\nExperimental Psych Drone Doom https://pureloveeternalpeace.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/pureloveeternalpeace \nBat Leather\nNoise Post Rock\nhttps://sonicchurchrecords.bandcamp.com/album/pageantry \nNeon Taste\nhttps://www.neontasterecords.ca\nhttps://neontasterecords.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/neon.taste.records
