SUMMARY:The Deslondes\, Rifle County Players and Carter Felker
DESCRIPTION:Where: Palomino Smokehouse and Social Club\n109 7 Avenue S.W Calgary\nhttp://thepalomino.ca/\n18+ with government issued identification\nWhen: Monday September 21\, 2026\nDoors: 7:00pm / Action 8:00pm\nAdmission: $22.00 advance at www.showpass.com\nNO JERK POLICY ALWAYS IN EFFECT!! \nThe Deslondes (New Orleans\, Louisiana)\nWhen the Deslondes recorded their new covers album\, they didn’t want to simply exalt their heroes and catalog their influences. They wanted to give their friends a boost as well. The poignant and powerful Don’t Let It Die Vol. 1 includes new interpretations of old songs by artists who’ve guided the band for years\, including Swamp Dogg\, Johnny Cash\, and Clifton Chenier\, alongside new songs by peers\, tourmates\, and collaborators\, including Nick Woods\, Pat Reedy\, and the Kernel. “We have so many friends who are songwriters\, and we just love their music so much\,” says John James Tourville\, who plays guitar and occasionally the fiddle. “Riley and Dan are always kicking around awesome\, inspiring old songs for us to do\, but for this album we really wanted to do some friend songs\, too.” \nDon’t Let It Die maps out a community of likeminded musicians given to hopping trains\, crowding tour vans\, and blurring the lines between styles and scenes. “These songs are very much a close part of our lives\,” says Riley Downing\, who sings and usually plays guitar. “They’re all part of our circle\, this big organism that keeps influencing itself. It’s mysterious\, though\, which musicians get heard and which ones don’t. I think we’re in a good position to tip our cap to the friends we look up to\, and hopefully it will benefit our buddies. Hopefully this album will encourage people to go down those rabbit holes.” \nhttps://www.deslondes.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/thedeslondes \nRifle County Players\nEmerging as an experiment to indulge in a genre outside of their musical comfort zones\, The Rifle County Players cut their teeth with country classic covers and have since transformed into a Calgary mainstay with a growing original catalogue. Check out their latest release “22-X Rated” – the first single off their upcoming album expected in 2026. – www.sledisland.com \nhttps://thecalgarycountryband.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/the.rifle.county.players \nCarter Felker\nIntricacy is often overlooked when accompanied by the sort of plain-spoken straight talk fashioned by Calgary singer-songwriter Carter Felker. Evoking the memory of such luminaries as Clark\, Van Zandt\, and Prine\, Felker’s nimble self-accompaniment neatly underscores the raw\, universal themes he brings to life with his reedy tenor. – www.calgaryfolkfest.com \nhttps://carterfelker.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/carterefelker \nIn the spirit of reconciliation\, we acknowledge that we live\, work and play on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika\, Kainai\, Piikani)\, the Tsuut’ina First Nation\, the Iyarhe Nakoda (including Chiniki\, Bearspaw\, and Goodstoney First Nations)\, the Battle River Territory of the Métis Nation of Alberta Districts 5 & 6\, and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta. \nNO JERK POLICY ALWAYS IN EFFECT!!

SUMMARY:Neon Taste presents Unsane ‘Occupational Hazard’ Tour with PURE LOVE ETERNAL PEACE and Bat Leather
DESCRIPTION:Neon Taste presents Unsane ‘Occupational Hazard’ Tour with special guests PURE LOVE ETERNAL PEACE and Bat Leather \nWhere: Palomino Smokehouse and Social Club\n109 7 Avenue S.W Calgary\nhttp://thepalomino.ca/\n18+ with government issued identification\nWhen: Wednesday September 22\, 2026 Doors: 7:00pm\nGeneral sale / Friday March 13\, 2026\, 10:00 a.m. MST \nUnsane\nSonically\, the record is noted for its aggressively distorted guitars\, driving basslines\, and pounding drums – hallmarks of the band’s uncompromising noise rock style. In preparation for the album\, the band first recorded a six-song demo session at AmRep Studios in Minneapolis\, MN. Shortly after\, Unsane relocated to Excello Studios in Brooklyn\, NY\, where they tracked the album with engineer Billy Anderson. Frontman Chris Spencer (guitar\, vocals) recalls the period: “The writing process for Occupational\nHazard was great. I think the one real defining factor to this very creatively rewarding period of time in our career was that we knew what we were doing in terms of songwriting\, and we were able to take our time while constantly playing.” \nFollowing the recording sessions\, Occupational Hazard was mixed by legendary producer and Barkmarket guitarist David Sardy. Reflecting on the collaboration\, Spencer adds: “I’ve always liked what he did with his own band and in the studio\, and I thought that it would work well for what we were doing. Dave also had access to a really good studio in Midtown Manhattan\, so we decided to take advantage of his great production work and that space. We had been offered a three-record deal with Relapse Records and figured that would be the best thing to do\, considering we wanted to tour constantly.” \nShortly before the album’s original release\, during a European press tour\, Spencer was brutally attacked by street thugs in Vienna\, Austria\, and left for dead. He returned to touring after emergency surgery\, though the incident significantly disrupted the album’s original touring cycle. Now\, more than two decades later\, the entire album has been newly remastered by longtime Unsane collaborator and engineer Andrew Schneider. All formats will include an extra track\, “No Soul\,” originally released via Frank Kozik’s now-defunct\, infamous Man’s Ruin label as a vinyl-only limited edition. Additionally\, the band will release the original six-song demo session recorded at AmRep Studios in Minneapolis\, MN. This previously unreleased material will be included in the digital download format and will also be made available for streaming and download. \nDespite its cult status\, the band had never performed Occupational Hazard in its entirety – until a newly announced\, one-time-only special performance at the Roadburn Festival in April 2026. In addition to this exclusive appearance\, Unsane will embark on a full EU/UK headline tour\, running from March 13 to April 19\, 2026. \nhttps://unsane.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/unsaneband \nPURE LOVE ETERNAL PEACE\nExperimental Psych Drone Doom https://pureloveeternalpeace.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/pureloveeternalpeace \nBat Leather\nNoise Post Rock\nhttps://sonicchurchrecords.bandcamp.com/album/pageantry \nNeon Taste\nhttps://www.neontasterecords.ca\nhttps://neontasterecords.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/neon.taste.records

Hailing from the isolated north in Whitehorse YT\, this two-piece metal-menace born in the pits of a world pandemic features Kirsty Wells (Whitehorse YT) and Evan Joel (Vancouver BC). While Kirsty screams hauntingly harsh vocals and slams the fuzz and distortion-fuelled bass\, Evan backs with raspy support vocals and drums hit hard enough to make ears bleed. FRANKLIN reflects the under-sung desolation\, mania\, and limitlessness typical of the vast north\, and is currently the only femme-fronted metal project in the Yukon. \nDubbed “gateway metal” by listeners\, the duo spent 2025 sharpening their teeth with a storm of festivals and tour dates throughout the year\, as well as four slow-burning but gnawing singles\, a fiery music video\, and a three-part live-off-the floor series. In 2026\, the FRANKLIN expects to push themselves even further. \nhttps://franklintheband.com\nhttps://franklintheband.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/franklin.theband \nOwls & Eagles\nHeavy Psychedelic Doom\nhttps://owlsneagles.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/owlsneaglesyyc \nNarcissistic Necrosis\nTechnical Death Grind\nhttps://www.instagram.com/narcissisticnecrosis\nhttps://narcissisticnecrosisofficial.bandcamp.com \nIn the spirit of reconciliation\, we acknowledge that we live\, work and play on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika\, Kainai\, Piikani)\, the Tsuut’ina First Nation\, the Iyarhe Nakoda (including Chiniki\, Bearspaw\, and Goodstoney First Nations)\, the Battle River Territory of the Métis Nation of Alberta Districts 5 & 6\, and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta. \nNO JERK POLICY ALWAYS IN EFFECT!!

Their music blends folk rock\, psychedelia\, post-rock\, and grunge into powerful soundscapes that resonate with emotional depth and cultural significance. Adam Sturgeon—lead singer and Anishinaabe community worker—is the driving force behind Status/Non-Status. Defined as “non-status” by the Canadian government\, Sturgeon’s identity is rooted in the complex history of his family. His grandfather enfranchised to join the Armed Forces and become a Canadian citizen\, creating a legacy that Sturgeon confronts in his music and work. His artistic journey is deeply intertwined with raising awareness about the impact of colonization while striving to reconnect with his Anishinaabe/Potawatomi roots and community. Committed to analyzing and questioning colonial systems of oppression\, his work reflects the struggles of his people and offers a path toward healing. \nhttps://www.statusnonstatus.com\nhttps://statusnonstatus.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/statusnonstatus \nBy Divine Right (Toronto\, ON)\nBy Divine Right features the psych-infused art-pop songwriting of chilean born singer / guitarist José Contreras. In the early days By Divine Right’s ever evolving line-up\, counting amongst some of its members Feist\, Brendan Canning (Broken Social Scene) and Brian Bordchert (Holy Fuck)\, made it one of Canada’s first indie rock collectives. To date Divine Right has been recognized with Polaris Prize and Juno nominations\, but most notably the adoration of admiring music fans and the CanRock music elite alike. – www.fortunestellarrecords.com \nhttps://bydivineright.ca\nhttps://bydivineright.bandcamp.com/\nhttps://www.instagram.com/bydivineright \nSelf Cut Bangs\nTwo weddings and a baby. Just a few of the major life events to account for the gap between Self-Cut Bangs’ sophomore album and their latest\, Growth Spurts\, a true family affair. Now featuring two married couples\, they self-describe as “like Fleetwood Mac\, but replacing the drama and drugs with more guitar solos.” A retro future rock & roll statement powered by a cotton candy jet engine. \nhttps://selfcutbangs.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/self_cut_bangs \nsadbirthdays\nThriftscore Dream Pop\nhttps://thesadbirthdays.bandcamp.com\nhttps://www.instagram.com/sadbirthdays \nIn the spirit of reconciliation\, we acknowledge that we live\, work and play on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika\, Kainai\, Piikani)\, the Tsuut’ina First Nation\, the Iyarhe Nakoda (including Chiniki\, Bearspaw\, and Goodstoney First Nations)\, the Battle River Territory of the Métis Nation of Alberta Districts 5 & 6\, and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta. \nNO JERK POLICY ALWAYS IN EFFECT!
