First off, let’s get this question out of the way. What has William Shakespeare have to do with music? Well that’s easy, two words, Iambic Pentameter. Iambic pentameter refers to a certain kind of line of poetry, and has to do with the number of syllables in the line and the emphasis placed on those syllables. Although he was famous for his plays, Shakespeare was first and foremost a poet. Musicians, writers, painters and creatives, they are all poets. How do you think songs are written? It’s in the rhythm and the beat.
