Nothing has made me a proud Calgarian more than CJSW, the biggest community radio station in North America! This is where my dream of running my own radio show continues to this day, now in its 20th year!
You know whatelse makes Calgary such a kickass city? All you hard-working performers and promoters that are dedicated to shaping our scenes, and all you fans that continue to support them! It is because of all of YOU, that we have so much diverse events and festivals that we could look forward to, week after week. Everything from gigs at various venues and establishments (whom, by the way, should also deserve our praise!), to some annual events that continue to grow, such as Jazzfest, Bluesfest, Folkfest, Sled Island, Lilac Festival, Pinball and Arcade show, Carifest, Otafest, and of course, NOCTIS and METALFEST!

There’s so many other elements that make Calgary such a great city, and you’ll be able to vote for your favourites, on FFWDWeekly’s “Best of Calgary” poll! The deadline is SUNDAY, MAY 19, and please take your time to vote for your favourites, such as: bars, parks, festivals, RADIO STATION, and *ahem!* … RADIO DJ!

It’ll only take few minutes of your time, and it’s fun! So, click, and vote away!

Now, here’s the recap of last night’s show!

Well, it’s that exciting time of the year again, where FFWDWeekly magazine conducts their annual “Best of Calgary” polls. Categories include: best restaurant, gym, parks, production groups, RADIO STATION (hint! hint!), your favourite RADIO PERSONALITY (double hint hint!), and so on.

Think about what makes this city kick ass (including who’s the BEST RADIO PERSONALITY!), and vote for your favourites on this site: www.ffwdweekly.com/questionnaire/best-of-calgary-2013/

Poll close on May 19, results will be revealed some time in June. And, oh yeah, did I already mention a category for BEST RADIO PERSONALITY? *wink! wink!*

Anyways, now 20 years of bringing the Cage to the masses, and my legions of “caged animals” growing all over the world, being MAD (with passion!) has never been this exciting. And I THANK YOU so much! I promise you more violent, dangerous FUN for more years to come, because that’s the life of the Cagedom, and we embrace it fully!

Some days, you just wanna rot your teeth with klondike bars while watching giant robots, or hook-up a game system so you could be a badass zombie-hunter for few hours! Yes, that time of the year is upon us again, where the freaks and geeks unite for an epic weekend of monsters, mutants, spaceships, and GORN!

The action started earlier at midnight, with cageful of tunes related to comics, cartoons, movies, and games. And the monsters were stomping, swords were clanging, hammers were pounding, phasers were phasing, … wherever you were, from one end of a galaxy to another, I thank you for joining me for another never-ending quest for asskicking!

A home away from home, a world away from the world, that is another philosophy of the Rage Cage. In a world we call ‘reality’, where everyone’s more and more segregated by individualism, and those outcasted are further isolated from the rest, pushed farther into the corner. However, one those corners is the Rage Cage , where the excluded, unwanted, unaccepted souls are united as one.

Rage Cage, it’s not just a radio, it’s revolt, a rebellion! Only those in the cagedom know what it’s all about, what we fight for, strive for, and all my caged animals are forever hungry.

After 20 years of raging, the Cage is still a good home for us social misfits, and we’re not about to leave anytime soon. Why? Because this is our life. We must keep feeding to live, and we feast on our battle, and metal is our celebration of victory! But, don’t lose that glare, for the rage is our fuel for the Cage, our soul! Stay mad, my friends, stay mad.
