Earth Hour 2026

Repair Exchange – Earth Hour event happening at the Central Library in Calgary on March 28th, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The event is all ages, free to attend and aims to educate attendees on the impacts of power consumption through fun activities such as:
– The Pedal Power Tower: A 300-watt challenge that lights up the room and rings a bell when 300 watts is generated.
– The “Wheel of Wisdoms”: A dynamic, interactive tool designed to help participants explore the profound connections between the 7 Grandfather and Medicine wheel teachings while addressing modern climate change issues and solutions.
– The EnLIGHTenment Challenge: Feel how much electricity incandescent lights require compared to LED lights.
The event will also host live entertainment, a live DJ and the special Earth Hour event at 8:30 p.m., where all the lights in the atrium will be turned off for an hour while pedal-powered activities continue to light up the space.
