CJSW has become aware of an email scam involving the unauthorized use of CJSW staffs’ names.
People impersonating CJSW staff have been sending fraudulent emails to artists and authors requesting money in exchange for on-air interviews and promotion.
CJSW is not responsible for these emails. We will never ask for banking details or passwords by email. Do not click any links in these messages. If you have already shared any financial information, we recommend contacting your bank directly.
HOW TO SPOT A SCAM EMAIL
Scam emails are being sent from Google/Gmail accounts such as “[email protected].” These are not CJSW email addresses. Legitimate CJSW email addresses will always end in @cjsw.com.
Most of these emails appear to be targeting artists and authors. In some emails, the impersonator pitches an interview on CJSW including details about the format, the impact, and the goal of the interview, then tries to sell the artist a promotional campaign package that would be launched after the interview.
CJSW does not ask for money, including e-transfers and other online payments, for interviews. We will never request personal or financial information through unsolicited emails.
