Montréal pianist and composer François Bourassa stands among Canada’s most celebrated modern jazz artists. With ten albums of original music and multiple Félix Awards and JUNO nominations, he has built an international reputation for lyrical composition, rhythmic sophistication, and seamless ensemble interplay. 

His longstanding quartet—now in its 25th year—features Guy Boisvert (bass) and André Leroux (saxophones/flute), alongside younger drummer Guillaume Pilote, bringing a renewed energy to the group’s evolving sound. Recent releases including L’impact du silence (2022) and Swirl (2023) highlight a refined balance of structure and improvisation, shaped by a wide-ranging musical sensibility.
