Heralded as one of Edmonton’s leading brass bands, Brasstactics channel the energy and spirit of New Orleans street music into a distinctly western Canadian context. This nine-piece, fully acoustic ensemble combines mobility with a powerful live sound, making them a fixture at festivals, outdoor events, and community gatherings. 

Drawing inspiration from groups like Rebirth Brass Band, MEUTE, and The Soul Rebels, Brasstactics perform a mix of original material and reimagined covers, spanning styles from classic rock and hip-hop to contemporary pop. Their music is grounded in driving rhythms, tight horn arrangements, and an emphasis on collective groove. 

Known for performing everywhere from sidewalks to rooftops, the band has built a strong regional following, sharing stages with acts like Five Alarm Funk and My Son The Hurricane. Their debut album, Tribute To The Groove, captures their high-energy approach—blending bold brass, marching percussion, and a strong connection to community-driven music-making.
