Motte and Bailey – Episode February 28, 2024

Today's episode marks the beginning of a new addition to the show where I take a look at a particular band, album, compilation, etc... each week. The name for this segment will be called "Top of the Castle", and this week, we're talking a look at Oakland's Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, and their unique blend of dissonant prog rock and avant-garde metal that will leave everyone's heads spinning. You can find their work on Bandcamp, among other streaming services.

On the Motte, we have a wide variety of experimental rap, from classic Anticon rappers to more glitchy and modern pop artists to underground jazz influenced abstract hip hop. After that, we close it off with a local cover of one of Neutral Milk Hotel's best songs and a unique gospel performance from Kentucky.

On the Bailey, we have a massive experimental electronic piece, some great Canadian rock, an AMAZING sludge/post metal release from Australia and Knoll once again.
