Malissa Rush is a Calgary-based vocalist known for her warm tone, expressive phrasing, and a style that blends vintage glamour with a modern touch.

Originally drawn to the stage through musical theatre, Malissa later rediscovered her voice through Calgary’s jazz community after several years away from singing. She began performing regularly in showcases and small ensembles, including with The Extremities vocal group.

For this special concert, Malissa will be debuting a new project and evening full of fun and flirty repertoire entitled Malissa Rush Quartet: Let’s Misbehave.

This will be a special event celebrating the playful, flirtatious, and delightfully suggestive side of jazz. Inspired by legendary performers like Peggy Lee, Julie London, Eartha Kitt, Dinah Washington, and Marilyn Monroe, Let’s Misbehave explores the wit, charm, and irresistible allure of the Great American Songbook.

The Attic is so excited to present Malissa Rush, a very talented artist who has quickly developed in to one of the shining lights of the Alberta jazz vocal scene. Malissa will be celebrating her debut at The Attic with this fun, sexy, and swinging show.
