In the first of this 2-part discussion, Shawn and Nana sit down with Kelsey Sitar to discuss Legal Aid Alberta in the context of access to justice. Kelsey is a criminal defence lawyer that practices privately and as a roster lawyer for Legal Aid Alberta. As well as criminal cases, Legal Aid Alberta assists in family matters, child welfare, immigration and mental health. This discussion focuses specifically on the criminal law context and features the perspective of a criminal defence lawyer.
