Last year, Pink Flamingo petitioned the City of Calgary for funding to create a set of four murals by Black, Indigenous, and artists of colour. Pink Flamingo chose a site for the mural, made the announcement, and was almost immediately the victim of a controversy perpetuated by some key players and the 24 hour news cycle.
