Hi Friend,

Did you know that our newest programmers hold down a very special  programming slot every Sunday afternoon from 1pm-2pm? New Horizons is a “sandbox” show that is hosted by novice CJSW programmers to reinforce what it takes to host a weekly radio program.

In case you did not know, all prospective volunteer programmers at CJSW are on-air trained by fellow CJSW volunteers for a one-month term. After that on-air training is complete, these new broadcasters are given the opportunity to host a weekly radio show on New Horizons for a term that generally lasts between 4 – 8 weeks. This amazing show featuring a revolving cast of new voices is a great opportunity for freshly minted CJSW programmers to gain understanding of how to independently host a weekly radio show.

If you haven’t checked out this program yet, I highly encourage you to do so. You never will know what you’ll be hearing, but rest assured that you will hear the freshest voices coming out of CJSW. Subscribe to to New Horizons on cjsw.com or through the CJSW mobile app to get in on the ground floor of what the future of Calgary’s campus and community radio station will sound like.

Here’s to tomorrow!
